Server Kit: Create server installation kit from a directory that contains downloaded Unzip DS Packages.

What's the difference between manual installation and i3DEXP-oPrem controlled installation?

There are many benefits in using i3DEXP-oPrem installation, here are some of them: 1. Training - Manual installation requires expert training and experience with relevant release. i3DEXP-oPrem allows IT person to install the platform with minimal training. 2. Time - Manual installation requires that installer be dedicated to the progress for at least 1-2 days while filling in many fields with consistant data. i3DEXP-oPrem requires all data entry in first 10 minutes of installation process, then you can leave it to run unattended.

3. Best practice - i3DEXP-oPrem implements years of experience and best practices.

Do you gurantee installation will run without errors?

No. We do our best to test out product in a veraity of environments and try to prevent issues before they happen. We can't avoid issues related to infrastructure (server & network) security blocks and issues related to installed product packages provided by DS.

Can I request to add a specific web app to
i3DEXP-oPrem?

Yes you can, request will be considered and web app will be added into support package if request is accepted.

What do I need to prepare before starting an installation?

A windows server supported by DS program directory. Login with user that has local admin access. Site certificate is recommended (self signed certificate will be generated if needed). DS licenses. DS software downloaded packages. No need for Java, TomEE and proxy these are included in i3DEXP-oPrem package.

What do I do when I encounter an issue?

i3DEXP-oPre monitors installation for any reported error, when an error is encountered you will be notified and pointed to relevant log files (as much as possible). After fixing the issue you can resume the installation from the point where it stopped.

What does i3DEXP-oPrem Finalization stage include?

i3DEXP-oPrem finalization includes multiple sub steps as indicated in progress frame. Main sub steps are - deployment of 3DSpace components, re-compilation of all programs, best practice settings and server restart.

When a new FD is released when will it be supported?

After FD01 release we test it and release suppirting version. Unless DS introduce significant change, all FDs release will be supported automatically immediatly. We do test new releases for the first year after major version is introduced. i3DEXP-oPrem will release a new update when required.

I purchased a license in 2023, can this licence be used for other releases?

License is valid for all i3DEXP-oPrem releases available in the license period. Including later releases once they become available. example - license purchase in March 2023 can be used for any supported platform version until March 2024, including the 24x package when it's released.

How many servers can I install with my license

License is based on user domain name and site suffix (...mycompany.com), there is no limit on on number of servers installations, fix packs and even upgrades done during the licensed period

Can I update my installation to new FD?

Only installations done with i3Dexp-oPrem can be updated to new FD. Any package that was installed manually should be updated manually, unless it's supported by i3Dexp-oPrem in which case, please reach out to our support of specific instructions on how to mark installed packages.

Can I install application packages not included in i3DEXP-oPrem release?

Yes, you can install additional apps manually. In that case it's recommended to run i3DEXP-oPrem after your packages are installed to allow it to finalize the installation correctly. Keep in mind that when fix pack is installed, you need to manually update the component
